Needed a larger topcase for a two week 3k mile road trip where most stops involved tent camping. Had a H&B Journey 40 but needed something a little bigger to also lug around a backpacking tent and sleeping bag as well as additional clothing.
Was a bit leery about having this size case on a Ducati Diavel with me also being near 300 lbs. That worry went out the window when I put it on the bike and hit the road. Although the size was, visually, too disproportionate for the bike, I never felt it affect the ride. I never weighed it but am near-positive I had about 3 times the H&B recommended maximum cargo weight yet I never felt unsafe, even in low angle banks. However, I'm sure with somebody my size between the wheels assisted greatly in balancing-out the load.
The case will fit just about everything one can take on a road trip. I had an inflatable mattress, sleeping bag, and single person tent. All these items were made specifically for backpacking so they are much smaller than what is normally brought on a camping trip but, nonetheless, they serve the same purpose and, most importantly, fit easily into the case. Later in the trip, I did remove the tent and sleeping bag and put them in a backpack - which was bungee'd to the seat - just for ease of going through the case when we stopped for breaks.
Pre-trip, my intention was to use this case just for this trip, then sell it afterwards. I was so pleased with the trip I now plan on keeping it - and the bike - to use for shorter weekend fishing trips as the topcase will easily accommodate a collapsible fishing pole and reel.
One small and easily-corrected gripe would be with the separately-sold top case rack. The rubber washers that rest between the rack and the case (to prevent ingress of water) split just from the bumps of the ride. I removed the rubber washers and replaced them with much thinner nylon washers (after giving them a coating of permanent marker to somewhat match the color of the case). I never ride in rain (at least intentionally), so I'm not worried about water infiltration, therefore, the nylon washers should suffice. I've included some pics of both washers as well as the fully-loaded scooter.
