My name is Ed and I am the owner of Moto Machines and a Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I was an early adopter of this bike and one of the first in Virginia to own one. This has helped us and Hepco & Becker to be at the front of every turn. Hepco & Becker first produced a tank guard for the Tiger 900 in the beginning of 2020. This guard has proved to provide ample protection being fixed to the bike at two points either side and one underneath the beak. As popularity for the bike has grown, so has the community surrounding the bike.
It was soon foud out that the OEM bars can cause damage because of the way that they mount directly to the steering head column and how high up they are mounted. The H&B tank guard gaurds avoided this problem because they mount lower down and attach through a bracket to the front subframe versus directly to the steering head column. This has made the H&B guards the most popular choice on the market. The community surrounding the bike offered their feedback on how to improve an already great design to "bomb proof" it basically. The bomb proofing was to add an additional mounting point on the frame and additional cross brace from one side to the other. Moto Machines and Hepco & Becker decided to make use of the feeback and are now proud to present the "SOLID" guard which I am convinced is a rough German to English translation for "BOMB PROOF".
The nerdy stuff: the tank guard stands out with its 5-point connection to the motorcycle and additional stiffening plates at the lower junction. The 2 front cross braces provide a joining of the bracket stiffening plates leading to an optimal distribution of forces in the event of a fall or crash. Close-fitting design with the best possible weight distribution into existing frame points. The bracket can be combined with the original engine guard and skid plate. The innovative design with the high-strength coating is designed for the long run. With the function clearly in focus, it becomes clear that this crash bar was developed for tough, uncompromising use in difficult terrain. It is recommended that any crash bar be replaced after a fall. Weld seams and the material may have sustained invisible damage and thus no longer offer any protection in the event of another fall. Fit was a little off. The finish was great with my red, white &black tiger. However, Bolts are not stainless and will rust over time. No torque values were provided or bolt information which I see as a major downside.
Very easy install and much more solid than the Touratech upper crash bars I had previously installed, those things folded in with a very easy drop.

Note : pull your light leads out ( left and right ) once the bracket goes on you will not be able to retrieve these leads. They mount directly underneath.
Very sturdy set up. Perfect symmetry around the bike.

2 hours tops. Easy install.
Most trying part of install is lining up the two halves at the holding adapter. Take your time. Holding both halves and keeping spacers lined up may challenge you some but your human (i hope ) and humans can do amazing things.

Great product easy install
Took a bad fall getting on the freeway. The bars held up perfectly. However, I now have a small flat spot on one of the crash bar.
Top quality. Engine guard a breeze to install. Tank guard took some time but overall very pleased with finished product.
Struggled initially trying to fit the bars but realized a section was bent preventing a proper fit.
Notified Moto Machines who quickly sent a replacement part.
After that, installation was straightforward and much simpler.
The bars are super sturdy, well-made.

Great design. Good heavy duty bars. A little fiddley to get everything aligned, but worth the effort and price.
I love the look of these bars - overall very sturdy construction. I did have issues with the install. My husband and I did this roughly 3-4 times. Each time the mounting bar on the steering column was off roughly a 1/4 inch. I ended up taking it to our service guy. They were able to get it together but did confirm that one of the parts was not to proper spec. They did have to adjust it/bend it to get it to work properly...

I love the look. Installation was a trick due to the very exact design. and two people is certainly helpful. Definitely better protection than the OEM bars. Instructions could be better. The pictures were not the best. I know the bike will hit the ground when off road. I am sure these bars will meet the challenge. Recommended.
Arrived quicker than I though. Lead time said 1 to 4 weeks and had them in just over a week.
Didn't see it in the instructions, but remove the front beak makes installation so much easier. You have to get a couple bolts between both guards, bracket, horn, keep wiring in proper position all the while holding the spacer in location was impossible for me until I easily removed the beak and could see what I was doing instead of working up underneath it.
Also a chase tap for the fog light mounting will help. I'm guessing it was the coating in the threads made getting the bolt threads started was difficult.
Not yet installed, but the order looks to be complete and the packaging seems adequate. No damage in shipping so far as I can tell.
Beautiful, high quality pieces. Would give 5 stars if the installation was smoother. It took a LOT of sweat and swearing and about 4 hours with 2 people due to poor instruction, alignment issues of bolt holes, and spacers not fitting. Once on, absolutely wonderful!
Pros: I think these are the best crash bars on the market for the Tiger 900. The way they mount to the frame up by the rider's knees and have two cross connections in the front makes them far more protective than other options I've seen. I was happy that they allowed me to continue using the stock lower crash bars. The hardware, construction, and coating (I bought black) were fantastic. The kit came very well packed from motomachines. I'm 5'8" and have no clearance issues with my knees while riding (multiple inches of room).
Cons: The fit was close but not perfect. I installed everything first with loose bolts but even then, it took considerable force and two people to align the last two bolts under the beak. To get everything aligned and tightened down I had to force it into place by bending metal with a wrench. Either the kit was just slightly off or the two aluminum spacers were too large. Maybe this was a one-off issue with my kit.
I found the instructions hard to follow. The translation is rough at times. "Use original distance" means use the original spacer/washer, etc. Thankfully the bolts are referenced by size so you can measure them. Extra steps or pictures would have been nice. There was no mention of how to route the wiring behind the headlight after installation. No torque recommendations. No warning about removing too many bolts at once and having your engine shift in the frame.
You are forced to remove the original bracket that the aux lights mount to. Relocation as shown, or complete removal of the lights are your only options. Not a big deal but the new location makes the lights more likely to be knocked around on the trail.
Finally they're pretty heavy, which is a trade off you expect for protection and well worth it but a con none the less.
All said, I'd buy these again without hesitation.
Excellent look and fit. These bars appear to be extremely sturdy. Hopefully they won’t be tested!
I bought these bars to prevent damage WHEN I drop my Rally Pro in the dirt. I think they will fit the bill for protection but they definitely are knee bangers if you slide forward to weight your front wheel turning in the dirt. I am 6'0" with a short inseam and if I slide forward ouch! I am normally wearing knee pads so no damage but they do interfere if I get aggressive.
I know some will say the Rally Pro ain't a real dirt bike but it is totally capable of some good dirty fun. If you plan to do above putt putt speed off road you might want to check out other bars.
Love These crashbars! Have "road tested" them on my tiger 900 GT pro in a lowside last fall and they saved my bike from any damage to the tank or frame. One small suggestion, do not attach them to your front headlight assembly subframe, a strong impact "could" crack that part. Other than that these bars are SOLID. 10 out of 10 recommend especially if you do off-road things with your tiger.
