Hepco & Becker Upper Crash Bars BMW G310GS 2017-

The tank bars will NOT connect with the engine bars on my 2022 BMW 310 GS. Change may not fit to does not fit, so that others don't waste their time and money like I did.

Design and look is good but that's about all. The tank guard does not fit correctly. The upper connection mounts are about .75 inches short. I attempted to install spacers as recommended but this did not work either. The right side still interfered with the fairing. Unfortunately I had purchased when I ordered the bike and by the time the bike arrived and installation was atmpted I was beyond the 30 day warranty. I am now left with a 500 dollar purchase that doesn't fit my bike as advertised. After a few online searches, this appears to be a common problem with these bars. Be aware these may not fit a 2022 model 310.

I installed the tank guards per the instructions but the mounting points were so far off it required considerable torque and placed a good deal of stress on them. After everything was bolted together the guards were touching the plastic on one side but had a half inch gap on the other side. Further research on the forums showed this to be a somewhat common report for these bars. I contacted moto machines and was informed the bars were within spec. I requested a modest partial refund since my time taking it all apart and shipping it back would have costed more, but I never received a response. I got the bars straight-ish by making a spacer and sourcing a longer bolt for one of the mounting points, but at the price point of these bars that’s pretty unsatisfactory.
I would not recommend Hepco and Becker or Moto Machines.

Great quality, great fit, great look. Very pleased. Installed both engine and tank guards. Appearance fits the quality of the bike.

I purchased the Hepco and Becker engine guard, skid plate, and this tank guard for my 310GS.
The Tank guard has its lower mounting points on the front upper corners of the engine guard, with a front crossover bar (with male and female fitments), and it’s top mounting points attach to existing tabs on the tubular frame section that supports the instrumentation, headlight, and front fender.
Now to the reason for my low rating...
Having already mounted the H&B engine guard and skid plate, and having been very happy with those parts, and the installation, I was disheartened to see that NOTHING lined up on the tank guard. I spent many hours bending mounting areas and even redrilling mounting holes.
If you buy this part I hope that your experience mounting it is far better than mine was!

I'm returnig item it doesn't fit the 2019 G310GS

Guard was East to install and connected to the lowers without a problem.

The engine guards and tank guard is a nice combo for the bike.

Moto Machines and their staff was very helpful in helping me find the products I needed. I ended up getting both Hepco & Becker engine and tank guards for my BMW G310GS. Delivery was very fast and installation was straight forward and I was back on my bike in less than an hour! As the other reviewer said you will want to make sure you get all the bolts started before you actually tighten anything up. Other than that the installation was straight forward and I was back on the road in under and hour.

The bars mount with a pair of tiny M6 screws up under the hard fender but without anything into the side of the bike. I question whether these will sustain the forces of a drop, or if it will transfer energy into the sub-frame and destroy that too. Time will tell.

Install tip: If installing at the same time as the engine guards, wait to snug up the lower set until you've installed the M6 screws up under the fender - they're a bit too short to comfortably thread. I used a longer screw to pull everything into place and allowed time for shifting and adjusting, then replaced my screws with the ones the kit came with.
