This skid plate works with OEM crash bars and our Hepco & Becker guards; that do not bend! We have seen quite a few OEM bars bend and the jury is out on whether that is by design or failure. If you are in the market for crash bars, give our Hepco & Becker ones a look and I think you will be happy with them.

PLEASE NOTE: When adding a large aftermarket skid plate to any bike, there is a possibility of mechanical sound being resonated from the engine. This can cause a change in engine sound that may not be expected. This is expecially possible with the Tigers because of the buzzy triple engines. Sound deadening is recommened to be lined on the inside of the plate if the sound is annoying. Most people are not concerned with the change in sound and if you are using the plate as intended as an offroad bash plate, it will not be noticed.

After much debut, we now have the Hepco & Becker skid plate for the Tiger 900! We have been waiting for this just as long if not longer than you and it's here! If you are in the states you understand this bike came out early this year and almost 9 months later we have this baby!

And after that much wait it is nothing short of perfect. This skid plate has just enough height on it to capture all the crud kicked up off the rear tire before hitting the beautiful triple engine of yours. The front of the skid plate does not go up too high or too low to my personal liking. Most importantly it is a well vented skid plate to allow maximum cooling on your bike without putting that radiator or two into overdrive. The skid plate is also designed to have a bare aluminum bottom that sill slide off of rocks or debris instead of getting caught on them.

In case this sounds right up your ally, I know what the typical Tiger 900 owner rides because I am one. My name is Ed and being the owner of the business I chose the best bike out there being the Tiger 900 which if you are reading this; I think you will agree. I did have some additional questions to Hepco & Becker about the plate. I was concerned it did not have a perfectly flat bottom or even reinforced plastic slide rails. Well the answer to that is if you do a countersunk into the aluminum being as thin as it is, it will actually weaken this products so instead it makes sense to leave the moutning holes where they are and put the recess screw on the outside of the plate. As for the slide rail, the testers of the product had greater ease sliding over logs without anything being in the way answering my questions. If you have any fell free to give us a shout, there is also the pdf attached showing how the skid plate is bolted on.

Customers praised this skid plate as a "big improvement over stock" with excellent protection and fit. Most found installation easy, though some noted unclear instructions. The plate is "strong" and "beefy," but several mentioned motor resonance/noise that can be resolved with sound deadening material. Bolt removal for oil changes requires care.

Bolts

Nice looking aluminum colour skid plate I like it a lot better than the black. It seems like it’s going to be good protection. Con you need to take the 5-6 regressed blots to change the oil filter it’s easy to strip a bolt especially after a season with loctight. Buy extra bolts from a nut and bolt store

Great product

Seems to be good quality. Fit is spot on. Looks good on the bike.

Great Skid plate

The only down side is the pan resonates. I solved it by sticking automotive sound deadening to the inside.

The best skid plate for the Triumph 900 Rally Pro

Strong, great looking bash plate that fit perfectly. I looked at all the plates available to fit this bike and settled on this one and am really happy with it.
As with all of the larger, thicker aftermarket plates, there is a slight resonance from the motor as they said there would be. It’s not bad, but I’ll probably go ahead and add some sound deadening as recommended.
This plate makes the stock plate feel like aluminum foil.

Looks great. Built to take

Looks great. Built to take a beating. Hardware fit great. Only complaint is it rings like no other. Glued some rubber patches inside of it though and all can no longer hear it. Overall very happy with the skid plate

2022 Tiger 900 Rally

Instructions for installation are translated from German and (to me anyway) weren't entirely clear. The photos weren't labeled and I initially didn't remove all of the stock parts needed to fit the new plate. A quick trip to You Tube fixed that. Otherwise, install was easy. Haven't slammed it yet, but it fits good and looks good.

Worth every penny

It's hard to state just how good this skid plate is. I've put mine through several thousand miles of off-road real-world conditions, and it has held up wonderfully. Several times, by necessity, I've had the better part of 1,000 pounds of bike, luggage, and fatass rider momentarily suspended by the skid plate, when going over a log or rock skree. The skid plate never even noticed. After all the paces I've put it through, it shows hardly any signs of fatigue or wear. It still goes off and on the bike quite easily for oil changes, so the plate and hardware have all retained their shapes, despite my abuse. Giant rocks kicked up by the front tire glance off this plate with an incredibly satisfying "ph-TAAAANG."

One relevant drawback to this kit is the drastic increase in noise resonating back towards the rider. Some people really like the noise, I don't. On my first ride with this installed, I thought my bike had a bad main bearing or low oil pressure causing unreasonably loud engine noise. After some testing I found that it's actually normal engine noise, just oddly amplified by the skit plate. All this noise complaint is inconsequential to the peace of mind offered by the fact that this skid plate makes the underbelly of the Tiger's 3-banger feel truly impenetrable. I won't go off-road without it on my bike.

Oh yeah, it looks awesome too.

Glad to get my Hepco skid plate. Installed easy enough ,but I have lot's of tools. Good quality, definitely better than stock and I like the resonating sound coming from down below.

Solid product but fit is

Solid product but fit is VERY precise (which is good overall) but problematic when having to remove and reinstall for oil changes. i do like how it is higher in the front, protecting the exhaust and keeping debris from piling up behind the plate.

Extremely disappointed with Moto Machines for not taking care of a known problem with this plate

I have bought a few things from this company and I was happy with the quality of Hepco & Becker products as well as Moto Machines level of service. However, everything changed when I purchased this skid plate. It is definitely solid, but once installed, it behaves as a resonance box when riding a certain RPMs causing a very annoying noise.
After doing some research, it doesn't seem to be an issue to everyone but it is to many including me and Moto Machines knows about it.

I spoke to them in two occasions, the first time, the person I spoke to recognized there were some complains from some people about the same noise issue but they didn't have a solution. A month later, I found out Hepco and Becker offers now an "Anti Vibration Mat for this skid plate" to solve this known problem; so I called Moto Machines again and the response was that they don't carry it and may carry it in the future only if there is demand for it. The best they could do was to tell me to look for myself a solution on Amazon such as dynamat.

Although I appreciate the fact that they tried to offer a solution, it is not good enough. They should have either taken back the product or at the very least order the Anti-vibration mat for me (which they say they could if I really cannot find a solution on my own). Customers are not able to order the mats directly from Hepco and Becker.

So, in summary I would not recommend this product because if you install it, you cannot return it even if it looks perfect. And I hope I don't have the need to buy anything from Moto Machines again because I don't trust they care about their customers.

Best skid plate on the market

A high quality skid plate. More sturdy and durable than the OEM plate that came with the bike. Easy installation with the correct tools.

Good bash plate, and held

Good bash plate, and held up nicely against the huge rocks in the desert. Only issue is it’s rigid mounted against my motor, and at certain RPM’s that bash plate howls.

Very well built, easy to

Very well built, easy to install skid plate. Only issue, that's not really an issue is it has to be removed to do an oil change service on the bike. Saying that, it is easy to remove and reinstall.

Nice skid plate but tougher to mount than it should be

This skid plate is so much better than the OEM “skid plate.“ I think I could’ve made a Stouder mash plate out of aluminum foil then what I got from Triumph for for my 2020 GT Pro. However, either the Hepworth & Becker specifications were off or my Tiger’s just different because the mounting holes did not line up very well. Hope it settles in and is easier to re-mount since you must remove the plate to change the oil (no drain hole - I know…pros and cons). In any case, I recommend having a helper when you install this puppy. BTW, MotoMachines were great on the ordering/purchasing and fulfillment side.

Great

Waited for this product because it works with the OEM crash bars which are installed on my bike. Much heavier than the factory piece and fitment was great. Have not beat on it like the old one yet, but I’m sure it will stand up well. Only slight concern is that the screws get pretty close to the exhaust, so hope there is no issue there when the plate takes a solid hit.

Great engine protection!

As with the Hepco & Becker engine guards, the fit is amazing. Rarely do you find accessories that fit this well. No fiddling or adjusting, just bolt the skid plate on with the supplied brackets and hardware. If only all accessories fit as well as Hepco & Becker parts do,
