The “Lock-it” System is an innovative design from Hepco & Becker for mounting side cases to your bike while having the option to remove the mounting frames and return to the original look and style of your bike in a matter of seconds. Many riders do not use their luggage all the time, especially on short or daily rides, and would prefer not to have the mounting frames installed for reasons of aesthetics as well as practicality. The solution is the Lock-it system. There is a small initial attachment plate that is simply bolted to your bike without any drilling necessary. From that attachment plate, you simply attach the mounting frames using quarter-turn Lock-it fasteners. These fasteners have an Allen head pattern allowing for quick installation and removal of the side carriers, leaving you with an almost original look bike when not installed. Each bike has its own custom made system specific to that one model. All the Lock-it mounting systems will accept all of the hard side cases offered by Hepco & Becker. Anti-theft protection is available as an added security feature thanks to the lockable Lock-It system fastener (151.050). These locks replace the standard Lock-it fasteners requiring a key to install and remove the mounting frames.

Bag work as advertised but

Bag work as advertised but just too much plastic and low max weight. Filling with normal travel items, I'm overweight by 50%. And not sure cost is in line with build material, might say marketing was a bit heavy handed here with cost cutting.

Perfect fit!

I was leery about the strength of these racks. To be honest, they looked a bit light in the pics. WRONG! These racks are stout! Everything I needed was in the kit. Even the rear turn signal relocation brackets. The ONLY thing I did (but really didn't need too) was extend the right side signal wiring by 4". It was a bit tight for my liking, but would have worked...not a H&B issue at all though!

This is a super-solid aftermarket rack system

This is a super-solid aftermarket rack system for cases that cannot be beat. The build quality is exceptional. They will also work with vintage Hepco and Becker cases as well as older Hepco-made BMW cases (may require slight modification). The point of the Lock-it system is that you can quick-release the cages to transform the bike back to looking essentially stock very quickly. This functionality also allows you to remove the racks and take them inside or away from the machine when it is unattended (although construction makes it appear that the racks are mounted permanently upon a cursory glance). You can add key-locking guards to the mounts (three fastening points) to beef up the security for the rack itself. The install of the cases (which should also lock on) only prevents the removal of one quick-release fastening bolt (in the center). Overall the product is very high in quality and can work in conjunction with the Hepco sissy bar/rear rack to complete a serious look that exceeds Hondaline vintage equipment in both fit and aesthetics (not that it is available for this late model, that I know of).
