The Sport Rack is an innovative luggage solution for sport bikes. The Sport Rack is used in place of the passenger seat and is secured using the motorcycle’s seat lock. This rack uses the same factory fasteners that lock the rear seat to the bike allowing you to remove the rack just as quickly as the rear passenger seat. Sport racks are made of black anodized aluminum with slots for straps. An enlargement rack is an available extra that has an increased width to fit large soft luggage.

Not what I expected.

Putting it together was ready enough but applying the foam gasket was a chore. The foam was crushed a bit by the way they packed it. It would have been better off the unit was pre-assembled. Foam is soft and flimsy.

Once I got it together it would not accept my Givi adaptor, so it was really a waste of my money.

Great Idea Just Doesn't Work Well!

I purchased this for a 2017 Kawasaki Z650 because the passenger seat is so small and narrow at the rear that I could not mount any type of tail bag using straps under the seat. Also I have the OEM side bags which eliminate the option of a traditional top case mount above and behind the rear fender. I wanted something that would look integrated with the bike, and I think this concept is brilliant - but the design is flawed. 1st this is extremely expensive compared to other options. It is clever so that deserves a premium, but when you pay a lot more you expect it to sort of work without major efforts and modification. H&B did not include functionality in there design plans. On my bike the rack sits about 1-1.5 inches above the rear tail section of the bike, H&B provided a 1/2" expandable foam strip to seal that gap. You will have to engineer your own seal if you think keeping the elements out from under the seat as Kawasaki intended is important - and yes H&B designed this specifically to fit my bike. The mount is abysmal, it is secured only by the seat lock and one loose fitting tab. These are 180 degrees apart and there is nothing to stop side to side rocking other than the lock. The stress on the lock will be orders of magnitude beyond what Kawasaki intended and when it goes so goes the rack and whatever you attached. And then you will need to buy a new lock from Kawasaki, just to put the old seat back. I cannot see how this item is usable in any way, but I am out more than a few bucks and am trying hard to find a way. If I find a way I will update, but my recommendation is stay away.
