Good but with Achille's heel

I like these latches. They work well most of the time though they do have an Achille's heel. The folding mechanism of the latch is attached to the base plate by an interference fitting. If the lid and box are not lined up precisely when you close it and you try to force the latch to close (like I did), you can pull the fittings apart and you will end up with a handful of parts in your hand. With patience, you can reassemble it, but the fitting will never be as tight as it was before and future failures are assured. The good news is that if you avoid ever forcing the latch closed it will work great. Also - I wish these came with more than one key...

H&B Xplorer top case replacement latch is great!

This new latch was easy to install, works great, and uses my original key! The old latch was loose and the mechanism had become sloppy. The new one is well made and tight. So much better! Loved that I could specify my old key code and get the new latch keyed to my original key.

Bad

You shipped it in a different color and the latch was supposed to come with a key and you send it without it.

great customer service

Needed replacement latch, Moto had them in stock and reached out when they did not have the key# requested and sent a replaceable lock cylinder so that I could match my existing key. Super customer service, good communication and fast shipping. Thank you

Latch replacement

Great new latch. color was correct, and came with all the pieces needed to install on your box. (as long as you have a poprivet gun!)

Replacement latches

Right parts and worked fine. I would have given 5 stars but the requested lock # was not sent and I now I can either pay for 4 new locks or carry 2 sets of keys
