I love the OEM handguard look, so I changed my barkbusters out for a pair of these H&B guards and haven’t looked back.
On a whim I purchased a cheap chinese clone of these handlebar guards to compare, and the build quality difference is night and day. The H&B guards are stiff and sturdy, while the cheap clone I could bend with my hands when mounted to the handlebar. It feels like the clone is made of a thin hollow pipe, while the H&B are solid bars.
I have no doubt the H&B will hold up in a fall, while the clone would almost certainly snap at the weld and offer little to no protection.
In the end, these aren’t the cheapest, but if you’re looking for the OEM look and still want to protect your levers and hands in the event of an off, or in the brush, I can’t think of a better option!
