When mounted with the original center stand, 2 screws M8 x 90, 2 washer‘s Ø 8,4 and 2 self-lock nut‘s M8 are required in step 1.

Not compatible with BIG FEET

I've been a fan of H+B for years, they make quality motorcycle hardware and these engine guards are no different. They are sturdy, bolt on flawlessly, and the finish is awesome. It covers all major engine components including that pesky coolant reservoir which likes to snap off and I am confident that they would hold up to all but the worst of tip overs.

Now let's get to the root of the issue, I have size 12 feet. The problem with these guards are that it sits too close to the shift lever and does not allow enough space to shift without wacking the toe of your boot into the guard. I have tried everything from Van's to my motocross boots and they all have the same issue. In a addition to not having enough space for my foot, I find that I consistently hit my shin on the guard when throwing my leg out when coming to a stop or when I'm cornering in the dirt. Unfortunately, since they have been bolted on and "used", I have voided the return policy and thus am stuck with crash bars that do not fit the bill.

I purchased these crash bars

I purchased these crash bars because of the lower location and the ability to add some small bags to carry my tools and tire repair kit. This allows me to lower the weight on the bike and move it forward will still providing protection to the bike. I paired this with a different brand of skid plate which appears to be a great solution.

Great engine guards, but they

Great engine guards, but they really need to use better quality hardware. The threads on the bolts looked like they could be used as files -- entirely unacceptable. I had to wire brush all of them and one needed to be run through a die to clean it up.

Beefy Guards

Received both the lower and upper guards. Installing them was fairly EZ but I learned that you want to install the lower first and then the upper. Very strong beefy units. Fit and finish is much better than some of the other units I've seen. Very happy with my purchase
