Had the dealership install these on my 2017 Kawasaki Z650 due to the level of difficulty. They attach to the front engine mounting bolts and on the frame behind the shifter. I was initially concerned they'd look out of place on a street bike and considered installing frame sliders instead. However, I'm pleased with how they look - they have an understated appearance due to the color (black) and how close they are to the engine. The construction and finish are excellent.
I recently had to set the bike down on the asphalt while making a U- turn on a narrow street. There was zero damage to the bike and the plastic slider part of the bars took all of the impact. I think they'd do a good job of protecting the engine and frame in a higher speed accident.
Overall, they're a great product. I'd purchase them again over frame sliders if I had to do it over.
