A Must-Have for the Transalp!

These are a must-have for the Transalp. Installation was pretty easy. The instructions are in German first, so it takes a little extra reading to figure things out, but once you get into it, everything is pretty straightforward.

The fit is excellent. Everything lined up without having to force, bend, or modify anything. The powder coat also looks really good and seems very durable.

Unfortunately, I’ve already had a chance to test them. My friend went down on the left side when his hand slipped off the controls, trying to do a wheelie, and the crash bars did exactly what they were supposed to do. No damage to the engine case at all.

Very happy with these. Easy to install, great fit, and they’ve already paid for themselves as far as I’m concerned.

These are the best ones Ive had. I have them on both of my bikes and they are fairly easy to install. Would recommend them highly.

Products arrived within a week which was unexpected. Packaging was over insulated which is a good thing. Instruction had pictures which were helpful and installation went okay.

Great experience ordering parts for my Honda Transalp.

The finish and fit of the skid plate and tank and engine guards was great.
The issue I encountered, which has been reported on YouTube by other riders, is the following: The threaded holes on the lower engine guard - where the skid plate is bolted to - are not tapered and neither is the bolt provided. As a result, it is extremely difficult to simply start the bolt into the threaded holes. I had to use a separate tapered bolt to condition the threaded hole at first - to be able to install the bolts properly. The danger with the non tapered holes and bolts is that (1) very hard to start the bolt into the hole, and (2) there is a high risk of cross threading. To be clear, only the first thread or two of the threaded hole (at ALL threaded holes) and bolt (ALL bolts) need to be tapered -. H&B should be able to correct this issue easily. And as I mentioned above, I am not the only person encountering this issue. Lastly, the instructions were a bit lacking. For example, the bottom bracket used to mount the skid plate has a forward or aft orientation, but the instructions do not indicate the direction. Consequently, I had to try both orientations to figure this out. The instructions should be more clear. In summary, looks great once done, but was very difficult to install due to the non tapered threaded holes and bolts and minimal instructions. It shouldn't be that hard.

Well made products. Basic instructions could be better. Guards are excellent. Just a bit pricey.

The products were packaged exceptionally well. No scratches or nicks. Cudos to Moto Machines. Udo Becker products are top notch. Fit and Finish are very good. A definite complement to my 2024 750 Transalp. Recommend to everyone.

The crash bars were packaged well, have a nice finish (in black), and seem sturdy once installed. However, the mounting hardware provided was very poor quality. The head on one of the M8 hex bolts stripped at less than 26 Nm using a torque wrench. The mounting plate threads also chewed up the threads on two M8x25mm hex bolts. I decided to replace all the hardware to avoid problems down the road. I also discovered that the youtube account 'Dork in the Road' had similar issues with hardware - specifically the mounting bracket threads. This was my first Hepco & Becker product and will probably be my last. Moto Machines packaged and shipped quickly!

High quality with good lower engine protection. Easy installation. Appreciate the option to add the tank guards if needed.

Purchased the Hepco & Becker bash plate and engine guards as the equipment looked robust and people were saying good things about it. So far, so good. The mounting instructions are bare minimum at best. It's not a complicated design, but you will need to pay attention to bolt sizes, mounting locations, torque specs, etc. If you lack mechanical know-how, you might want to consider having someone with this kind of experience help out. Also, YouTube is your friend!

This is grest protective equipment for my Transalp. It fit perfectly and was easy to install. The guard is stout and appears strong, though I hope it never gets really tested in a crash.

The product I ordered was not in stock. Moto Machines was accurate on their date predictions and shipped the order ASAP. Order was packaged well and in perfect condition when it arrived. I will definitely use them again.

The engine guards went on easily, and provide a rugged and protective accessory to my already rugged and protective transalpine.

The guards and skid pan work great. A little hard to understand about putting it all together. Needs to have better instruction in English. A brief call to the company and they helped, it all went together and works, looks great.

Now to get the top guards and pannier frames. .

There was an additional mounting bracket that was needed to install the engine guards that I did not see when placing the order. Motomachines caught my omission and reached out to let me know before the order shipped. Additionally, there were two washers missing from the install kit and after contacting MM, they shipped out the missing washers without hesitation.

As far as the engine guards themselves, they appear to be very solid and I hope to never find out! Install can be a little fiddly getting all the bolts to line up but this was more for the H&B skidplate. Just take your time and be patient.
