Hepco & Becker Crash Bars Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports/DCT '18-19

The Hepco&Becker lower crash bars are very sturdy. I also paired these with the upper crash bar stabilizing brace. It strengthened up the factory upper bars a lot. The only issue I had was on the lower crash bar on the throttle side it was difficult to get the o2 sensor reconnected because of the rear mounting flange. I gave these four stars instead of five because of this and also because this is a Japanese bike and some of the fasteners supplied with the kit have 13mm & 15mm heads and nothing else is that size on my bike so now a couple more tools to carry just for those fasteners.

Excellent service, answered fitment questions, verified stock and shipped quickly. Hepco guards were excellent quality and fit like factory. Easy install following instructions, be prepared to remove exhaust for lower guards. Otherwise not too bad, installed by myself but help would definitely make it easier Would buy again.

After some After several hours I finished the installation! Look good and solid. I recommend that you read the installation manual very well and someone to help you. I made some mistake and work alone but you can!

Looking for lower engine guards for your african twin. I ordered the Hepco & Becker engine guards. They showed up promptly and was very easy to install with the instructions that came with them.

These fit perfect on my AT. I would suggest removing the entire exhaust system. Make sure you disconnected the O2 sensor near the radiator bottle on the right side.

Im very happy with the fit and quality of these Guards and the way they work with the factory front light Bar. Have not tested them yet !

The product finish and quality is great. It looks great on the bike and matched the stock upper fairing crash bars well. Once fully secured, they are mounted to the bike very firmly. No complaints with Motomachine’s shipping and packaging. Fast and boxed securely.

I had the opportunity to crash test the left side bar at low speed on a muddy trail already and they held up without a scratch - the lower crash bar (combined with the handlebar guards) helped to give me more confidence off-road not worrying about cracking the lower case.

The install was about 2-3+ hours for me (I’m not very handy but I had help from a friend). The headers / exhaust have to come completely off and it can be a pain lining everything back up again. You can do it yourself but I suggest paying a buddy in pizza and beer for the extra hand.

I have a 2018 Honda Africa twin sport. I had these installed buy a local motorcycle shop. They work great with the stock upper crash bars that came with the bike.

While I was pleasantly surprised with the great design and meticulous machine work of this Hepco & Becker Engine Guard, it was disappointing to discover that the upper front stainless-steel guard bolts weren't long enough to go completely through my 2019 Honda Africa Twin Adv. Sports DCT frame. The proper bolt lengths according to the H&B installation instructions were listed; unfortunately, the bolts included in the kit (for the front guard to frame mounting) weren’t the proper length nor diameter as listed in installation instructions. (85 mm bolt length 6mm diam. Provided; 100mm length 8mm diam. req). This was likely overlooked during order preparation, as mentioned previously (the required hardware dimensions listed were right, though I had to spend an additional $20 at a local nut & bolt supply). So that threw my ability to install and ride the next day off a couple days, in order to purchase and install proper bolts. Though sometimes these things happen.

Fitment is very good. I am sure they saved my side cases on low speed tip overs.

They fix Great looked stock (very important to me) a little pricy but probably worth it because of the fit and quality.
