The Easyrack is the latest rear rack to be made available from Hepco & Becker. The rack has been designed to be aesthetically pleasing yet practical as well. It incorporates a modern design made from aluminum with a plastic cover for a sleek appearance. This allows for fitment of any standard Hepco & Becker top case and more!  What makes the Easyrack special is it's top bow that has the ability to fold down and out of the way when not in use. This makes it easy to carry a duffel bag or strap down any other item over a flat surface when a top case is not in use. Each rack is bike-specific and mounts to a point of strength such as the rear subframe or passenger pegs. Please note: This rack will not work with Alu Standard top cases. The Alu Standard top case needs a tubular rear bow to mount, where this is the part that folds down on the Easy Rack.

Useful, but clunky and imprecise

Not many top case mounting solutions for the KTM Duke 690, so this is the best one available. My Hepco & Becker Junior 55 case mounts securely to the rack, and the bow folds out of the way for carrying other cargo.

However, installing the rack proved finicky. The left and right support brackets flop around alarmingly until the bolts are REALLY snugged down. One of the bolt heads stripped while tightening, so make sure you have a quality hex key that fits well in the bolt to prevent this from happening. Also, the bag of hardware included with the kit had a couple of mismatched bolts and was missing the four small washers entirely. Lastly, the plastic covers that snap onto the rack to conceal the mounting screws fit poorly. I had to request a second set of covers, as the first right side cover would pop right out if I poked it gently and the first left side cover would never even clip into place to begin with.

Now that I've got it installed, it provides a usefully long load platform, but it's difficult to attach soft luggage as there aren't really any places to put bungee cords and only a couple of rather skinny slots to try to feed webbing straps through. Webbing straps will fit through the slots, but buckles will not.

I previously had a SW Motech Sportrack, which was much easier to install, fit better and more precisely, and offered a much greater choice of soft luggage attachment points. However, it was just a thin plate of metal, so it bent under the weight of my fully loaded top case. It was also pretty short front to back, so didn't provide much of a load bed. The H&B Easyrack, on the other hand, is a nice thick casting with lots of stiffeners, so now that I've managed to get the dang thing installed it should prove WAY tougher than the SW Motech Sportrack.
