The elegant and rugged Xplorer cases have become one of Hepco & Becker’s top selling products since being introduced only a couple years ago. They are made of 1.5 mm thick anodized aluminum and ABS plastic to combine the best of both worlds. The aluminum has been anodized to prevent corrosion especially when putting wet items in the case. The plastic has been designed to absorb impacts. The angled structure of the cases provide for enhanced strength and durability. A clever lid hinge makes it so that you can remove the lid completely if needed making this is a top loader case that folds up to 90° for maximum access. Tie down points are molded into the top of the case allowing for additional attachment of H&B top bags or other luggage.The Xplorer range of cases is available in natural anodized aluminum or black anodized aluminum. The construction includes impact resistant moldings, which are riveted to the aluminum with a generous feed of sealant to ensure a watertight seal. All the Xplorer bags come with integrated carrying handles.

Side cases are available in 30 and 40 liter sizes and are purchased individually. Most choose to make an Enduro set where one side is sized different from the other to offset the muffler. The Xplorer line offers a top case in a 45 liter version that will accept one full faced helmet. Several accessories for the Xplorer side cases include carrying handle straps, shoulder straps, tool kit, inner bags, and a two liter canister complete with holding plate which can be used for additional gasoline or water according to the riders needs. Water bottles are available, however they do not come with the actual water bottle shown. These water bottle holders and canisters will require drilling by the customer. Expandable top bags are available which mount to the lids of side cases through the tie down points molded into the case for additional storage. Accessories for the top cases include a backrest and top railing that can be mounted from left to right or front to back, available in black or silver.

Mediocre Boxes

I love the size of the box and the fitment on the racks. I have had other hard boxes (Tusk) and thos are bullet proof. I have dropped my bike many xx on those and they are not damaged (scratched a bit, but no damage). If I put these boxes through that same 'abuse' they would not last. I was moving my bike in the garage and brushed up against another bike and I got a dent. Luckily the bike these are on I am not going into situations where droppring the bike is a regular occurence, more touring travel. For touring I love them, they hold all my camping gear so I don't need many duffels. Would I buy these again, probably not. The price is not great (not horrible either) but I always worry about banging them so they dont dent.

Amazing Side Cases!

these look great are easy to put on and take off and are highly functional. Just got back from using them on a 1,500 mile 6 day motocamping trip and they were perfect. I also have the 60L top case and I will note that i had to cut the bottom feet off the bag of it to prevent them from rubbing on the tops of the side cases. not a huge deal, just a heads up. Id imagin with the 40L or smaller you wouldnt have that issue though!

The cases while beautiful are a little plain so i went ahead and cut some black reflective vinyl for the X inlays in the sides.

Outstanding engineering

Product was delivered before I expected it. Packaging was done very well. Immediately when I picked the case up I was shocked at how lightweight it was. KTM's OEM cases are roughly around 15 lbs each and this was maybe like 3-4. Simply blown away by how lightweight these are. Tested them out on a 5,000+ mile road trip through all kinds of climates and conditions. They're definitely water-tight. The locking mechanisms all matched in the set so I didn't have to keep a lock for each case which was nice. Really easy to install on the hepco and becker racks I purchased to go along with it. The durability was also really surprising: in New Orleans a cab driver swerved at low speed into my left side case and even with how lightweight these are they laughed it off without a scratch. I've also dropped them into rocks while doing some single track on my KTM 1090 and whatever coating they have on these cases must be really durable because I haven't picked up any scratches I couldn't buff out yet. The lids aren't detachable unfortunately but with how durable the hinges are I think that's an OK trade-off in my book. Would highly recommend these cases on durability, styling, and weight being the biggest accolades.

Style and Function

Great cases. I didn't like the OEM cases for my Versys and I purchased the H&B lock it carrier and these 40L large side boxes for my bike. Easy, quick install was great. I recently did a NorCal to Zion, UT trip and the boxes were essential. They hold much more storage, top loading, and make my bike look great.
