Are you looking to take your bike to the Extreme?
If you answered yes to the cheesiest question we could possibly think of than this guard is for you! Hepco & Becker have just released the Extreme version of their popular tank guard for the Yamaha Tenere 700. The main difference between this version is the amount of protection it offers. You will notice right away that the Extreme guard covers more than your standard guard and as much space as possible for the upper part of the bike. Cross width strength bars have also been increased from 1 to 2, twice the amount of stiffness! The coverage and design is spot on based on our very biased view. The guard itself contours to the upper fairings flawlessly and features a welded in plate for improved looks and strength. In addition to this we find it to also provide a nice space to strap down exterior bags for week long journeys such as the Hepco & Becker tank guard bags.
To sum it up, this is the best tank guard for your bike if hitting the trails and forgoing a lower enging guard.
Please note this does not work with the crash bars 501.4564 00 01 from Hepco & Becker since it uses the same space.
Special note: Two fairing bolts will be inaccessible while guards are installed
These guards have a wide area of protection. Please keep in mind your knee position in comparison of the guard location. Taller riders depending on positioning may have knees close or touching in some cases.
