Hepco & Becker designed a clever reinforcement plate for the Universal Top cases. This can be used in addition to the plastic universal mounting plate that comes with those cases to give the adapter a bit more strength and to prevent any bending with an overloaded top case. It can also make a better mounting point for the plate depending on the design of the bike's rack.
