The “Lock-it” System is an innovative design from Hepco & Becker for mounting side cases to your bike while having the option to remove the mounting frames and return to the original look and style of your bike in a matter of seconds. Many riders do not use their luggage all the time, especially on short or daily rides, and would prefer not to have the mounting frames installed for reasons of aesthetics as well as practicality. The solution is the Lock-it system. There is a small initial attachment plate that is simply bolted to your bike without any drilling necessary. From that attachment plate, you simply attach the mounting frames using quarter-turn Lock-it fasteners. These fasteners have an Allen head pattern allowing for quick installation and removal of the side carriers, leaving you with an almost original look bike when not installed. Each bike has its own custom made system specific to that one model. All the Lock-it mounting systems will accept all of the hard side cases offered by Hepco & Becker. Anti-theft protection is available as an added security feature thanks to the lockable Lock-It system fastener (151.050). These locks replace the standard Lock-it fasteners requiring a key to install and remove the mounting frames.If you click on more views under the main image, more images of the side carrier on the bike will be pulled up. You can see that this side carrier is the symmetrical version where the case on each side is an equal distance from the center of the bike and is the more popular version that people go with. The placement of the cases are not only symmetrical but higher up on the bike and provide an almost arm chair like feel for the passenger due to the cases being around 5 inches taller than the seat. We recommend this version for most riders.The asymmetrical side carrier (650.7524 00 01) is recommended for solo riders on long trips because the top of the side cases are just below the passenger grab rails creating a lower center of gravity and create more of a flat service which allows you to strap items down across the bike. On the right side of the bike, the case is also pushed in closer to the exhaust with about half an inch of space to spare.

More than you want and less than you need

The racks are quite heavy, which will be great when you drop your bike, I suppose. You have to buy adaptors to fit your boxes separately and will cost more in shipping than seems sensible.

Thank you for your review. Yes, the carrier is quite stong since is constructed of robust steel to allow for full-sized cases to be used on an ADV bike like your KTM. They hold up quite well in a fall for sure. I checked the shipping price with 2 adapters added to the cart going to your area and there is an option for $5 shipping!

Very clever but needs refinement

First of all, I gave it a 3 because of the room for improvement makes it only average... not because I don't like it. It does nearly exactly what it says in that it retains the stock mount look on my KTM 1090 AR. I don't have any complaints about fitment. I do think it needs some refinements though to make it better than other options out there which is a shame because the xplore hard cases I got are nice pieces of kit and incredibly light weight. The rack is a bit heavy. This could be good if you plan on dropping your ADV bike off roading but I would prefer something lighter and I do believe the design could shave a few pounds off without sacrificing integrity by using aluminum mount points and an internal cross brace that had some kind of ratchet adjustability system to keep the rack in place more tightly. There also 100% absolutely needs to be some kind of rubberized coating on the oem look-a-like mounting brackets that replace the plastic ones on your bike because after the first use the semi-gloss paint was already scuffed up because the rack doesn't attach tightly/snuggly if you only use the quarter turn bolts to mount it. The finish on the oem replacement mounting plate does not match the paint texture on the bike either.

Not as pictured...

The racks are fine, but if you expect them to include the brackets which are required to adapt to your Gobi bags, think again. You need to buy those separately even though they are pictured above, so count on another $24 plus shipping if you want to mount your hard bags. (And yes, the mounts might be included if you buy new Gobis but that's no help if you have a leftover set of bags from a previous bike).

1190 Goni side case mount review

Mounted in 30 minutes no problems at all. Good quality I also bought the locking screws, probably over kill as I'm not sure what someone would do with the mounts but a suppose better safe then sorry. The Gobi side cases lock on with out a problem and give the passenger a nice cock pit with the case providing nice arm rest. I would recommend this product without hesitation. Enjoy,,,,

These side carriers seem very well designed and made. I was able to install them in 30 minutes. Bonus was that with the gobi bags installed there is a safe armrest perch for my passenger.
