The Journey Top Case 40 has a 38 liter capacity. Can hold one helmet and is highly water resistant thanks to a special seal used. This will fit all H&B rear racks and Aluracks. Has the option to come with a universal adapter plate to mount this top case to other non H&B racks. The Journey top case range has five different models. Ranging from the 32 liter Journey 30 through to the Journey 40, Journey 42, Journey 50, and the Journey 52 with space for two full face helmets. The journey top case 30 is ideal for who pack light and is also suitable for scooters given its smaller size. It can hold one helmet and has a front cover in black gloss. The only available accessory for this top case is a custom backrest. The Journey TC 40 is available in black with a silver top insert and clear reflector or all black with a red reflector. The Journey TC 42 is styled to match the Journey 42 side cases available in the standard Journey (silver) and Journey Recon (anthracite) style. This TC 42 can hold one helmet and more. The Journey TC 50 is available in black with a silver top insert and clear reflector or all black with a red reflector. The Journey TC 52 is the largest top case offered allowing space for two full sized helmets. It is available in silver and arctic that both provide a large red reflector on either side of the case for optimum visibility. Accessories for all Journey top cases being 40, 42, 50, and 52 include a top case railing for additional storage, a backrest, and inner bag. Journey 40 Top Case

Ordered the Journey 40 Top Case and Rear Rack on Wednesday. Received both on Saturday. Very well packed. I'm pleased with the quality of the rack and case. Both have been installed on my '23 Triumph Speed Twin 900. I'm using these along with the C-bow side case holders and Orbit side cases. Moto Machines was good enough to key the top box to match the side cases. The way the top case locks to the rack is a little different than other top cases. This was a concern of mine prior to ordering. I like it now that I've had a chance to work with it. It works well. I think the Top Case is a perfect match for this bike. It's large enough to hold my Shoei Neotec II, but not so large as to overpower the bike. I think it looks great given that I wanted the utility of a top case. Special thanks to Noah at Moto Machines for promptly responding to all my questions prior to ordering.

Terrific case

The rack and the case were easy to install, the case is easy to open, close, and remove from the rack. Seems like very high-quality, I am very happy so far!

Journey 40 top case

Love the case, lots of complaints about the hinges. I have no issues with that. I have to return the unit because the keys only work the lock cylinder 1/2 the time. Cylinder and key set is Chinese crapola!

Nice bag !

Fit is tighter than original. So, I would really think it will not rattle at all ! Nice case. I'm glad that I waited for it. Have not rode with it yet. With the frozen weather and snow where I would pull out the bike to turn it around.

Mounting is awesome, hinge doesn't inspire

It's been great and is awesome as a single key box but the hinges and the pins you put in start to show wear almost immediately. Wish there was a model with more robust hinges and a better stabilization system when using it as a backrest.

Works great, looks great, fantastic service

I got the side and rear racks with hard-bags for the R1250R from Moto Machines a couple of months ago. I have used them a few times and really enjoy them. Great quality items and mounted up exactly as advertised.

I plan to paint the silver part of the side bags to match my bike but have not done that, yet. The top case can be a little finicky to mount, but no big problem; I will probably get used to it after a while, but for now my muscle-memory is for BMW OEM bags.

Also, I received different keys for each bag. When I called service at Moto-machines on this, they very quickly shipped matching locks, which installed in minutes. Could not be happier with their responsiveness.

Hepco & Becker Journey 40 Top Case

Excellent quality, perfect size for a hyper naked bike.

Just right.

Ive used a 30l in the past and found it too small. On the other hand, I didnt want a coffin sized behemoth hanging off the back of my bike so this 40l is just right. Attachment to the rack was straightforward and seems secure. Ill give an update after my next trip.

The top case is an excellent accessory for my 2018 BMW R Nine T Pure. I can safely store my helmet,, gloves and other items.And it looks nice, too.

Great Top Box

First HB top box for me as have only used Givi before. The box seems more solid than my Givi 55 and I definitely like the HB mount system better. The box sits solid on the plate without any play, unlike the Givi. Plus the lock for the box to plate is separate from the opening lock. Givi uses an integral system with one lock for both functions and is a bit finicky. I'll never use Givi boxes again. Buy it!
